Six weeks in to her new job as MD of Readly UK, Ranj Begley is cool, calm and confident, and loves her new appointment.
"This job couldn't be more perfect for me. I was keen to move into digital as that's where I see the future of publishing. It's been hard work and never a dull moment, I wouldn't have it any other way."
Ranj was the perfect choice for MD because of her extensive network of contacts in the publishing industry, her tenacity and her commercial nous. Formerly Client Services Director at Dovetail Fulfilment for eight years Ranj looked after many of the UK's largest publishers and grew Dovetail' client base by 60%.
Ranj's task is no mean feet. Readly International have big plans to grow the digital magazine industry in the UK just as they have done in Sweden.
"It's about getting more eyeballs on magazines and is being proven successful in Sweden with only 2% overlap between Readly digital subscribers and the publishers own file." Ranj explains.
"We plan to meet with all UK publishers big and small and demonstrate the value the Readly platform offers. We let the product speak for itself. There is no upfront investment or risk, so I'm simply asking publishers to try us out."
When she's not in meetings with publishers Ranj is recruiting the Readly UK team to have the key disciplines of Marketing and Publisher Liaison in place before launch in Spring 2014.
